Casper and Max
Born deaf, but unaware that everyone else could hear, Casper was about to be put down when we heard about him. Already the owners of Patch, also a white boxer, we decided to take Casper and see if he would bond with a "big brother." Bonding wasn't even a good description for what happened between the two of them. They were inseparable and Casper became quite good with sign language. When Patch died, Casper went into a very deep depression and wouldn't eat or play. He just laid beside the back door like he was waiting for Patch to come back inside. We heard about another white boxer puppy whose owner had started a new job requiring long trips out of town and so, we adopted our third white boxer, Max. Casper took over the "big brother" duties just as well as Patch had for him and now is back to his wonderful, funny self as he shows Max the tricks of the trade and he's even teaching him sign language.
