And finally...the real test of patience. What about your boxer and other pets, and how will they all get along?
This is a major concern for people who are either...
thinking of adding a boxer to their family
or already have a boxer and are wanting more pets.
You just gotta wonder what these two were thinking...
...But anyway... Speaking From Experience...
I had a three year old black lab (and two cats) when we added our white boxer "Blizzy" to the family. And now...4 years later, our boxer and our other pets are one big happy family!
Yup, this is Blizzard (Blizzy for short)
Now... how could anyone think this little guy could cause trouble? Actually, he wasn't that bad...although he demanded alot of attention in the beginning, which brings us to the first topic when dealing with your boxer and other pets:
How To Divide Your Time Between Everyone...In the Best Way
And if you're looking to add more bundles of joy to your happy family...

Now I know...I know, you're not supposed to have a favorite pet. And you're not supposed to give more attention to one over another. But lets face it here people...
There are just some pets who just demand more than others...
For instance...this other little guy below is our black lab "Zeus". Zeus is a seven year old male who was diagnosed with epilepsy around his second birthday.
Zeus is doing fine, living with his disease and giving his brother Blizzy a hard time! The thing is, it may have been tough in the beginning...But he and Blizzard Just LOVE one another...
More often than not, these two guys are joined at the hip. Usually neither one can sleep at night unless they are curled up like spoons together....aww, now that's cute.
Regardless of how you might think you want your boxer and other pets to get along, there are some precautions you should take (at least in the beginning anyway)to ensure a happy, healthy pet family.
Introducing the New Puppy to the Rest of the Family...
Watch this crazy boxer...he defintely has something to say about bringing another pet into his family...
Okay, it's true, not all boxers will be this vocal...or this funny...
...and you might be thinking that bringing new pets together seems like a very simple thing.
May I remind you that boxers tend to be very curious, but also cautious at the same time. Keep this in mind when making introductions.
If your boxer is already a member of the family and you're introducing him to a younger dog, the task is more difficult. If your introducing a new boxer to the rest of your crew, he should do just fine.
The bottom line?
Use caution and don't try to force a relationship- Dogs will naturally introduce themselves at their own pace, and really only need your assistance in guiding the introductions...
Be patient! It can be very stressful for both your new pet and your original pet
Share your attention equally among all your furry friends...there's nothing worse than feeling left out!
Plan the first meeting appropriately The idea here is to introduce new pets smoothly. Neutral zones- areas that have not been "claimed" by existing pets- make the best place to start.
If done correctly, your boxer and other pets in your family should become life-long friends...Take it from these two fools...Blizzard and Zeus Christmas 2006
