Step 1:Be PreparedBoxer puppy housetraining is made much more simple if at first you get prepared. That means simply buying the right equipment...
The Crate
Despite what people may say, the training crate is not a cruel thing!!! As a matter of fact, your boxer puppies will enjoy being in their crate and will come to think of it as their own safe place.
My boxer puppy was a bit timid at first, but within a week he was actually going into his crate to lie down. really! We would leave the door open for him and we made sure to keep a nice comfy blanket and a few play toys in there at all times.
The trick is to get your boxer puppies used to the crate. As they becomes accustomed to sleeping in it, they will treat it like their own special place. It's important to a boxer puppy to have a safe place where he can lie down and feel safe, protected and at home.

The Leash
Another item that many people neglect to think about until they actually need one is the leash. Most people remember the collar, but the leash always gets forgotten!
There are so many varieties of leashes on the market today, it's tough to decide which type you need.
At first, don't make the mistake of buying a fancy leash that retracts, or is 2000 feet long. Buy a simple leash that is appropriate length for a new puppy.
As your boxer puppies get a little bigger and a little more comfortable on the leash, you can step up to the fancier types. Besides, the retractable leashes are great if your boxer dog likes to run in front of you on walks...
Although I would recommend that you train your boxer how to walk on a leash before allowing him extra room to roam.

"Puppy" Sized Treats
In order to follow a training curriculum that is built on positive reinforcement instead of correction, you must stock up on a decent supply of treats to reward your boxer puppies when they do something right.
Again, there's no trick to buying the right type of dog treats. Just make sure that you buy the tiny treats for your boxer puppies. When they get older and bigger you can invest in larger, more sophisticated treats.
What is a sophisticated treat? Ha Ha.
